Spectacular Saturday
Well what a spectacular saturday it was for 4 of our very talented academy players. Saturday saw Robbie Welfare, Aidan-Jay Butcher and Rosie Campbell play in the Southern County Youth Champion of Champions event.
Unfortunately the triples games were not to be with both the Girls Pairs & U21 pairs going out in the early stages However things started to look up as the singles games got underway,
First we have Rosie (11) who played amazingly well in the U21 Girls reaching the Quarter Finals, a brilliant achievement when playing up an age group
Next up is Aidan-Jay who played in the U18 for the last time, reaching an incredible Semi Final, again a massive achievement for him
And thirdly we have Robbie who stepped up to the oche for the U21’s unfortunately exiting early, but still played a fantastic game.
Saturday also saw our Ladies captain Kacey-Jayde Witcher take part in the UKDA National Finals, playing in the senior ladies finals. After a few delays and hiccups it was time to step up to the oche, She played fiercely well and holding her own. KJ managed to make it to the top 64, unfortunately losing 4-2. Losing didn’t stop her from finishing 32 on averages out of 174 players though.
All in all we as an academy are insanely proud of all 4 players, each one of you has demonstrated that putting in the work can achieve amazing things.
In addition to all the excitement, comes some bitter sweet news. Our boys captain Robbie will be taking a step back from the academy for a few weeks, Robbie has been given an amazing opportunity to further his skills and darting experience by playing in the ADC Vault 3.0 series. We are so proud of him for taking this chance to push himself further with his darts, but of course we are going to miss him during his break, we wish you all the luck in the world and we shall be cheering you on from the side lines, go do us proud Robbie!
